In order to fund the many community service projects run by the school, Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur (TISKL) organized a Charity Food and Fun Fair. An all day event held on the school grounds,  the Food and Fun Fair with filled with nearly 60 stalls selling food, drinks, games, and various items for shoppers and interested visitors to buy. TISKL set what they considered to be an ambitious target: to raise RM 50,000 in support for five charity organizations.

But as organizers pointed out, “through the support and help from students, teachers and parents, we managed to surpass our targeted figure. We received a phenomenal response and support from the public and there were a lot of fun and exciting stalls for this year’s Food and Fun fair. As a result we raised nearly RM 75,000. We definitely would not have been able to make it without the support and contributions of our community.” Of course, none of this would have happened with the dedicated staff and students of the school enthusiatically volunteering their time and effort to help the community around them. The five organizations that will benefit from this event are The National Kidney Foundation (NKF) Malaysia, Yayasan Nanyang Press, Leukemia’s Lions Lyfe-Line Fund and orphanages – Rumah Kebajikan Sinthamani Divine Life Ashram, Rumah Raydha and Baitul Ehsan.
Months of planning and hard work before and during the event concluded with a successful day that brought smiles to many. In line with the school’s vision and core values for community service, the event aimed to create a culture of helping the less fortunate. The event also served as a part of the students' holistic learning to build strong characters who are able to take their productive place as leaders in the global community. Moving forward, TISKL hopes to get involved in more community service programs and urged support from students, teachers and parents in upcoming activities. For more updates ion TISKL’s projects please visit http://www.kl.tis.edu.my/
